Trade mission to Japan provides insights
A trade mission to Japan has provided an Ohio farmer with a better appreciation of trade relations.
Keith Truckor, who farms in Northwest Ohio near Metamora, in Fulton County says having the opportunity to sit down with Japanese grain buyers and talk about their concerns and answer questions about the U.S. crop is important.
“They tend to want to talk to farmers, they don’t want to talk to some of the industry people, grain elevators, export companies, so forth, they like to talk to farmers and get our viewpoint on how we produce a crop,” said Truckor. “They are very interested in what we do and how we do it as far as technology we use, the biotech traits we use and why we use them.”
