Under Secretary Taylor continues to monitor GMO corn dispute with Mexico
USDA Under Secretary Alexis Taylor says she’s optimistic there will be a favorable outcome in Mexico’s GMO corn dispute.
“We’re still on track to have that final panel decision by the end of the year. I remain confident in our arguments.”
She says the upcoming ruling is significant for other global partners. “It’s also so much more important than just our bilateral relationship with Mexico. It is really on the principles that the global trading system has been built upon, science based, rules based, transparent regulatory systems.”
Ted McKinney, the CEO of NASDA, recently told Brownfield the panel decision is expected in the next few weeks. Taylor spoke to reporters at the 2024 World Food Prize Borlaug International Dialogue.
