Under Secretary Taylor sees promising outlook for ag exports

The Biden administration says it continues to expand market access for producers.

When asked about free trade agreements, USDA Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis Taylor told Brownfield, “Whether that be investing in trade missions, like we are right now in the Netherlands. We will do six this year. Or it’s in bilateral engagements.”

For example, she says an initiative focuses on increasing ag exports to Kenya and Taiwan. “Those I expect to provide that science-based direction on what bilateral trade may look like.”

Taylor says Vietnam is another emerging market.

Some members of the ag industry have pushed for the administration to pursue additional trade agreements.
