University of Wisconsin merges agronomy update meetings
Wisconsin farmers and crop consultants can now get more agronomy information while attending fewer meetings.
University of Wisconsin weed scientist Rodrigo Werle tells Brownfield instead of having separate meetings at different times of the year, all of the research information will be available during the Badger Crops and Soils Update Meetings. “We used to have a pest management update meeting. We used to have a soils update meeting, and then the agronomy update meeting. After Covid, things have changed so all of the three meetings now have become this one major meeting which is our Badger Crops and Soils Update.”
Werle says farmers and crop consultants can catch up on the latest research, and continuing education credits are available. “We’re going to start off the day hearing about soils and water. We’re then going to move to forage and grain crop management. We’re going to have our colleagues, our ag economists come and provide us an update, and I think that’s going to be very, very important. We end the day with a pest management discussion.”
The meetings are next week in Eau Claire Tuesday, December 3rd, Arlington Wednesday, December 4th, Appleton Thursday, and a virtual session to end the week Friday.
