US Hemp Growers Association has launched
A new farmer-directed hemp trade association has been formed.
Caren Wilcox is serving as executive director of the US Hemp Growers Association.
:There’s been a lot of excitement around the growing of hemp in this last year and last crop, but there have also been farmers who have said they didn’t have enough information,” she says.
She tells Brownfield the organization was formed to provide outreach to growers and provide them with necessary information and advocacy surrounding hemp.
“We will have agronomic information, we’ll have information for members about how to access certified seed or genetically stable seed,” she says. “We’re going to have information about regulations.”
More than 300 farmer-members of the US Hemp Farming Alliance will fold into the US Hemp Growers Association.
Wilcox has held executive roles at Hershey, the USDA, and the Organic Trade Association.
