USDA says crops doing better in IA the last week

USDA says Iowa’s crop conditions improved slightly from the previous week.

Corn conditions are rated 75% good to excellent. USDA SAYS 68% of Iowa’s corn is silking, ahead of the five-year average. USDA says 18% of the corn is in dough stage.

Soybean conditions are rated 74% good to excellent, a 2% increase from the previous week. USDA says 25% of Iowa’s soybean crop is setting pods, slightly behind last year with more than half the crop blooming.

The second alfalfa cutting is 75% complete and the third cutting of alfalfa hay has started.
