USFRA helps bridge farmer, consumer gap

The US Farmers and Ranchers Alliance is using 360-degree virtual videos to help consumers experience modern farming.

Nancy Kavazanjian farms in Wisconsin and is a director with USFRA.

“We can’t take every consumer to the farm but we know if we can show them that we’re trying to be good stewards of the earth and of our products and really grow responsible by using this high technology, we can connect those gaps,” she says.

She tells Brownfield many consumers are skeptical of technology used on farms.

“The non-farm audience understands technology is a good thing and they like farmers, but they’re not always sure the methods we use are good,” she says.

Kavazanjian says the USFRA is already seeing success in efforts to bridge the communication gap.

She says the alliance continues education efforts and has also started a new app called engAGe, where farmers can share their stories.
