Using sustainable ag practices to increase profitability
Farming sustainably in 2025 could provide farmers with an additional revenue stream.
East region sustainable ag manager Marty Templeton with Nutrien Ag Solutions says farmers are looking for more ways to increase their profitability in 2025.
“Especially with where the ag market is right now and the importance of ROI for growers out there, it’s a it’s a very tight economy compared to the past few years,” he says. “Anything that you can do to bring an extra revenue stream to per acre is beneficial to the grower.”
He tells Brownfield many farmers are already using sustainable practices and have seen the benefits.
“We think of these practices as good agronomy,” he says. “Trying to hold the soil in place and building soil health is what all of these practices are really based on.”
Templeton says Nutrien and Bunge have additional offerings through their Regenerative Ag Program to offer another opportunity for growers to meet consumer demand.
Brownfield interviewed Templeton during the 2025 Fort Wayne Farm Show.
