Verdesian Life Sciences to offer more nutrient education opportunities
Verdesian Life Sciences has found success with its Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) University, an online learning platform for growers, retailers, and crop advisors.
Matt Lail says Verdesian Life Sciences started NUE University in 2019 to address a need for nutrient use education.
“What we were really proud of is not only did we make it really almost agnostic when it comes to products – it really was about subject matter – but we were able to get many of these courses approved for continuing education certified crop adviser credit,” he says.
He says more than 2,000 people enrolled in courses in the first year and Verdesian recently rolled out additional 200-level courses.
“These courses get into topics such as nitrate leeching, plant bio stimulants, soil nutrients and plant roots chemistry, 4-R stewardship, and then NUE best management practices and more,” he says.
Lail says it’s important to provide nutrient education as the industry faces regulatory pressure about nutrient run-off and algal blooms.
“If we can do our part to educate growers and agronomists about the theme of nutrient use efficiency, we think that will go a long way and making this an everyday topic of conversation,” he says.
Verdesian Life Sciences focuses on a sustainable future for farmers by focusing on nutrient use efficiency.
