Warm temps, low rainfall cause MO crop conditions to decline

USDA says Missouri’s corn and soybean conditions declined slightly in the last week of July, likely due to the above normal temperatures and below normal rainfall.

Missouri’s corn condition is rated 77% good to excellent with 22% of the corn dented. Soybean condition is rated 74% good to excellent with 52% of the crop setting pods.

The cotton condition is rated 61% good with more than 60% of the crop setting bolls. Rice conditions are rated 76% good to excellent with 64% of rice headed.

The state’s hay and roughage, stock water supplies are rated 97% good to excellent.
