Weather concerns span Midwest

Weather is one of those variables farmers can’t control.  Following this weekend’s Midwest Association of State Department of Agriculture (MASDA) meeting – Jay County, Indiana farmer David Lowe says one of the things he was surprised to learn is that concerns about this year’s weather are wide-spread.  “All the state Directors of Agriculture spoke about being short of moisture during the luncheon,” he says.  “Knowing others have the same concerns  – makes you feel a little better – realizing that you’re not the Lone Ranger.”

Lowe says for the lack of moisture the corn crop has received this year – he is surprised at how well it has held up.
