Weed expert not concerned about the loss of FeXapan herbicide
A weed scientist says he expects farmers will not have to make any major adjustments with Corteva removing its FeXapan dicamba products from the shelf.
Rodrigo Werle is with the University of Wisconsin He tells Brownfield, “It probably won’t have an impact because, you know, growers that are willing to use dicamba post-emergence in soybeans, they still have the other three herbicide options, the Xtendimax, the Engenia, and the Tavium herbicides, so they can still take that route.”
Werle says farmers who already have FeXapan will have to take it back to their dealer. “That product cannot be sprayed because the label is expired, so they’ll have to reach out to their local dealer and then swap products or come up with a solution there. That’s what they’re recommending.”
Werle tells Brownfield he is not surprised and agrees with Corteva that the majority of soybean growers have already switched over to the Enlist™ technology for weed control.
