Wet fields leave farmers racing against soybean planting dates
Persistent rains are preventing some farmers from finishing planting.

“We are struggling still with too wet conditions, so we are not done with our soybean planting yet.”
Missouri farmer Kyle Durham grows corn and soybeans east of Kansas City and tells Brownfield he’s not finished planting.
“You can’t control the weather, but what we can control is whether the machines are ready to run once the planting window opens.”
The final crop insurance planting date for soybeans in Indiana is June 21st. For Missouri, the dates range from June 15th to the end of the month.
