Wet, warm weather in much of Minnesota

2024 started warm and wet for most of Minnesota.

The USDA says average temperatures and two to four inches of rain across the state made feedlots muddy, with some reports of respiratory illness.

Despite those issues, overall, calving and lambing are proceeding well.

That mild weather has allowed farmers to complete more tillage and tiling.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
