Wet weather impacting custom operators

Many Wisconsin farmers have had a slow start to the planting season, but one farmer says the cool and wet weather is also impacting custom operators.

Neil Christenson grows crops in Shawano County, and says he’s not worried. “And once they’re here, it will only take a day, and they’re in and out, but they’re busy, and I understand. They’re going around the clock. they’ve got twelve-hour shifts going on with a couple of crews, so I have to just wait and see when they show up, and then we’ll go at it.”

Christenson is optimistic his fields will get planted as early as this week.
