Wisconsin crop report

The USDA potato harvest is rolling along in Wisconsin.

The latest weekly crop progress and condition report shows 51% of the potato harvest is complete with 88% rated good to excellent.

Sixty three percent of corn is in good to excellent condition with seventy-three percent in the dent stage, 2 days behind last year but 1 day ahead of the 5-year average. Eighteen percent of the corn crop was mature. Corn for silage harvest was 23 percent complete.

Soybeans coloring reached 75 percent. Forty-one percent of soybeans were dropping leaves. Soybean condition remained at 62 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat planting was 23 percent complete with 8 percent emerged.

The fourth cutting of alfalfa hay was 63 percent complete.
