Wisconsin FFA welcomes new staff members

Two new people will be assisting Wisconsin’s ag education programs.

FFA Executive Director Cheryl Zimmerman tells Brownfield Missy Goers is leaving the Shawano school district be become the new state advisor in ag education and natural resources consultant at the state’s Department of Public Instruction. “She’s a former teacher who now will be helping us lead at the state level, and her focus is going to be a lot more on the curriculum, the classroom, the licensing, and those kinds of responsibilities, as well as helping with FFA.”

Zimmerman says starting in August, Jen Russell will be the new Managing Director of Chapter and Member Programming. “She will be taking the position that Glenda Crook is currently in, and she’s going to be working with awards, recognition, all of those degrees, proficiencies, all of that SAE-related area.”

Russell is a past ag educator at Shullsburg, curriculum coordinator for CASE 4 Learning, and lecturer at UW–Platteville.

Wisconsin Association of FFA serves over 28,500 members across Wisconsin in 267 schools.  Zimmerman tells Brownfield she expects to announce new chapters and a new membership record during next week’s FFA state convention.
