Wisconsin harvests picking up

Dry weather was good for harvesting small grains, hay, and potatoes last week in Wisconsin.

The USDA says oats are now 86 percent harvested, ahead of last year and the five-year average, while potatoes are 25 percent harvested and rated 90 percent good to excellent. 

A third cutting of alfalfa hay is 89 percent finished and 30 percent of fourth-cut hay is completed

Corn is now rated at 55 percent good to excellent with 95 percent silking, 73 percent in the dough stage, and 25 percent dented. 

Soybeans are 97 percent blooming and 84 percent are setting pods with 63 percent of the crop in good to excellent condition.
