Wisconsin planting nearly finished
Spring planting in Wisconsin is wrapping up ahead of last year and the five-year average.
The USDA says corn planting is 98 percent complete with 93 percent emerged. Condition declined four points to 82 percent good to excellent.
Soybeans are 96 percent planted, 87 percent emerged, and condition declined a point to 85 percent good to excellent.
Winter wheat is 60 percent headed and condition improved to 80 percent good to excellent.
The first cutting of alfalfa is 75 percent complete, eight days ahead of last year but one day behind the average.
