Wisconsin prepares for surge in international delegations at World Dairy Expo
Wisconsin’s Ag Secretary says he’s expecting more foreign visitors at this year’s World Dairy Expo.
Set-up is underway for next week’s World Dairy Expo in Madison, and Randy Romanski tells Brownfield this is where the world comes to for dairy knowledge, animals, experience, and genetics and his team is prepared to meet with more foreign representatives than usual. “It seems like we’ve got a lot of delegations coming in this year. We’ve got a delegation from Morroco, New Zealand, from Central and South America, from Europe, and it’s great to see that. In some cases, these are places that our international team has already been so we’ve established some relationships.”
Romanski says some countries are export destinations for technology and dairy products, while others are big producers of dairy products, like New Zealand. “We do see countries coming in that are maybe traditionally strong dairy countries who are still coming to Wisconsin to learn, to connect, to gain information and maybe make connections.”
World Dairy Expo officially begins Tuesday, September 30th but there are some youth and cattle show activities beginning this Saturday, September 27th.
