Wisconsin State Fair does Dairy Lane differently

The Wisconsin State Fair has changed how Dairy Lane educators interact with the fairgoers.

Board Member Nicole Barlass tells Brownfield this year, they hired dairy ambassadors instead of recruiting volunteers to handle the many questions from the public. “We’re providing those workers with all sorts of various experience in how to talk with fairgoers, how to speak with media, and then how to just handle people’s questions.”

Barlass says the dairy ambassadors also gain tools they can use long after the fair is over. “We have them engaging with so many different people here at the fair, so it’s really an opportunity for their futures to develop connections with people in the industry that will help excel them in their future careers as well.”

Dairy Lane is right across from the coliseum.  The Wisconsin State Fair runs through Sunday, August 11th.
