Wisconsin waives ag chemical cleanup fees again
Wisconsin farmers and pesticide applicators will continue to get a break from the state’s Agricultural Cleanup Program fees.
Fertilizer and pesticide businesses normally pay a fee when renewing their license, and farmers pay it when purchasing fertilizer. The fee goes into the ACCP fund to help pay for cleaning up agrichemical spills. When the fund remains above $1.5 million, the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection can waive the fee. The department has waived the fee since 2018.
The Department says the fee holiday will extend through June 2023 for fertilizer purchases and through the 2022-23 license year for other licenses.
