WIU Ag hosts successful bull test sale
A healthy cattle market benefitted the recent Western Illinois University School of Agriculture’s 53rd Annual Bull Test Sale.
The bulls averaged $6235, bred cows averaged $3300 and replacement heifers $2133. The top-selling bull brought $9000.
WIU Ag Director Andy Baker said in a release it was one of the best sales on record. The sale, conducted by faculty, farm staff and students, supports the WIU School of Agriculture’s commitment to livestock.
This was also the first year that WIU-bred heifers and cows were sold at the sale.
