World Pork Expo will go on as scheduled

Despite all of the hub-bub about swine flu, World Pork Expo will go on as planned. The National Pork Producers Council points out the H1N1 virus responsible for the outbreak was incorrectly termed “swine flu” and has no connection to hogs or the pork industry in the U.S. or anywhere in the world. In fact the virus has not been found in any animals to date.”

The show will go on as scheduled, June 3rd through June 5th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. The World Pork Expo Junior National and World Pork Expo Breed Show and Sale will be held as planned during the show.

Show organizers will continue to follow strict biosecurity animal health protocols as standard operating procedure, just as they do every year.
