Year-over-year June North American tractor sales down

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers says North American Tractor Sales fell in June. AEM says sales were down nearly 13 percent last month from the same time last year.

AEM says the drop in sales is largely attributed to low inventory with overall tractor inventories down more than 40 percent year-over-year. AEM says the downward movement is the second overall negative result in a year, but U.S. self-propelled combine sales rose more than four percent in that same time.

Sales volumes are still above the five-year average and AEM’s Curt Blades says the remaining sales strength in the bigger row-crop units points to market conditions remaining positive.
