EPA administrator Lee Zeldin visited the Iowa State Fair Tuesday.

Iowa Farm Bureau president Brent Johnson tells Brownfield they discussed several topics.

“The need for year-round E15, and we did talk about (the) Endangered Species Act. He did have a couple announcements today, with clean water and pulling some of our waters back off the impaired list.”

Zeldin was asked by Brownfield about a timeline for further guidance on the Waters of the U.S. rule.

“Our team has been working hard on it to get this done extraordinarily urgently and quickly. We want to get it right, but we also want to get it done right away.”

Zeldin says stakeholder participation is going to be crucial once EPA issues its proposed WOTUS rule.
