Illinois’ Arians wins AFBF Discussion Meet

American Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer’s and Ranchers program provides a lot of opportunity for America’s upcoming farmers.

During yesterday’s closing session, the YF&R award winners were named.  The 2015 Discussion meet winner is Sean Arians of Illinois.  His involvement in Farm Bureau began in high school and says YF&R provides three basic pillars to success.

“Personal and professional development and the third one is social involvement,” he says.  “I think for most farmers and most young farmers and ranchers it’s about how they can make a difference.  And the Young Farmer’s and Ranchers program allows them to do that.”

And by networking with other farmers and ranchers from across the country – Arians says the social component provides a better understanding of America’s agricultural diversity.
