On-Farm Network helps farmers analyze data
Capturing, analyzing and managing data is a big part of farming today. The Iowa Soybean Association’s On-Farm Network not only helps farmers collect data, it also helps develop different techniques on how to check data quality.
Peter Kyveryga is the On-Farm Network’s operations manager for analytics.
“We also summarize data—we develop specific methodology for summarizing and analyzing data,” Kyveryga says. “It’s a two-way communication between us and farmers, where farmers are an important part of this process.”
But privacy is also a big concern. Pat Reeg directs the On-Farm Network.
“We keep all the participants private in this. We don’t release any names,” Reeg says. “But we do have an open data policy so that all this information that we collect and generate is available on our web site at isafarmnet.com.”
Iowa Soybean’s On Farm Network is more than just a conference to share insight and ideas, get conference coverage and learn more at isafarmnet.com. Funded by the Soybean Checkoff.
