A big change in weather ahead for the Badger State
While a potent low pressure system moving across northern Minnesota during Thursday brings an early-season snowstorm to eastern north Dakota and northwest Minnesota, a strong cold front associated with that system will sweep across Wisconsin from west to east.
Look for mild temperatures ahead of the front, with highs reaching the mid-and upper 70s southeast, but only the lower 50s up northwest. Overnight lows will range from the upper 30s east and the lower 30s elsewhere across the state.
Scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm are expected along and a bit behind front, but the main story is the much cooler autumn temperatures that will settle in behind it for the weekend. Cold overnight temperatures Friday night and Saturday night should bring an end to the growing season almost everywhere in the state.
Additionally, low pressure lingering across the northern Great Lakes region will bring chances for rain and snow showers to northern Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday.
