A much colder pattern still ahead for the Heartland; moisture for some

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures nationwide, except for warmer-than-normal weather near the Canadian border from northern Montana to northwestern Minnesota.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions across portions of the northern Plains, as well as an area stretching from the southern Rockies into western and southern Texas.
