A largely dry pattern for the Heartland; a wide-range of temperatures ahead from west to east

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in most areas from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains, while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover the eastern half of the U.S.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in the Southwest.
