More warm weather ahead for most; a few showers largely centered on the Plains

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in parts of the Northwest.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation from Oregon and California to the Mississippi Delta, and from the lower Great Lakes region into New England, should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the rest of the U.S., including the Southeast, western Corn Belt, and northern and central Plains.
