A range of temperatures west to east across the Heartland; largely dry for most

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures from the Great Lakes region to the Atlantic Coast, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail along and west of a line from the Dakotas to the Mississippi Delta.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across much of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions in parts of the south-central U.S., including the western Gulf Coast region, and across the nation’s northern tier from Washington to western New York.
