An active pattern ahead as colder air advances into much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for chilly, unsettled weather across much of the U.S.  In fact, warmer-than-normal weather will be limited to an area stretching from southern and coastal Texas to the southern Atlantic Coast.

Meanwhile, the entire country should receive near- or above-normal precipitation, with much of the West and parts of the Southeast having the greatest likelihood of experiencing wet conditions.
