A Summer-like pattern ahead for most of the Heartland; near-seasonal rainfall for some

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near-normal temperatures across the Plains, Southwest, and upper Midwest, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in California, the Great Basin, and the Northwest, as well as areas east of a line from Deep South Texas to Lake Huron.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in much of the western and northern U.S. should con-trast with wetter-than-normal conditions from central and southern sections of the Rockies and Plains to the Atlantic Coast.
