An increasingly active, if not stormy weather pattern ahead for most of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures in the western Gulf Coast region and from the Mississippi Valley to the East Coast, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover areas from the Pacific Coast to the Plains. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation should fall nationwide, with the central Plains and the eastern U.S. having the greatest likelihood of experiencing wetter-than-normal weather.
