Brownfield Ag Weather Today

During the next couple of days, gusty winds, low humidity levels, and ongoing dry conditions will maintain an elevated threat of Northeastern wildfire activity.  In contrast, recent rainfall has suppressed the wildfire threat in portions of the central Appalachians and middle Atlantic States.  Meanwhile, a storm system emerging from the western U.S. will result in a significant precipitation event across the nation’s mid-section, starting on Sunday across southern parts of the Rockies and Plains.  Storm-total precipitation could reach 1 to 4 inches or more along an axis stretching from the southern Plains into the upper Midwest.  Although much of the precipitation will fall as rain, snow should blanket higher elevations of the southern Rockies.  Elsewhere, stormy weather will continue for the next several days in the Pacific Northwest.
