Brownfield Ag Weather Today
A pair of sprawling storm systems—one over the Great Lakes region and the other just west of the northern Pacific Coast—will result in broad areas of wet, windy weather over next several days. The Great Lakes storm, forecast to propagate eastward to the Canadian Maritimes by Saturday, will result in widespread precipitation (as much as 1 to 2 inches) from North Dakota into the Northeast, with rain changing to snow as the system entrains colder air. Accumulating snow will blanket parts of North Dakota later Tuesday, followed by substantial, wind-driven accumulations in the central Appalachians, starting on Thursday. Farther west, 5-day precipitation totals could reach 10 to 20 inches in northern California and parts of the Pacific Northwest, with flooding possible at lower elevations and blizzard conditions expected at times from the Cascades into the Sierra Nevada.
