Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Cold air amassing across western Canada will shift southward, leading to sub-0°F temperatures by Thanksgiving (November 28) and beyond across portions of the northern Plains and upper Midwest.  A couple of rounds of precipitation will precede the turn toward colder weather, with the highest totals expected in parts of the eastern and western U.S.  Namely, early- to mid-week snowfall could total 5 feet or more in parts of the southern Sierra Nevada, with significant high-elevation accumulations expected as far east as the central Rockies.  In contrast, little or no precipitation will fall during the next 5 days across much of the nation’s mid-section.  Farther east, however, 5-day precipitation totals could reach an inch or more from the Appalachians to the middle and northern Atlantic Coast, with snow possible from the Great Lakes States into the Northeast.  Aside from rain in parts of the southern and eastern U.S., Thanksgiving Day should be cool and dry across much of the country.
