Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Cold but relatively tranquil weather will dominate the U.S. during the next 5 days, aside from persistent snow squalls downwind of the Great Lakes.  During the weekend into the first half of next week, freezes should extend as far south as northern Florida, while sub-0°F temperatures will be common in the north-central U.S.  However, cold conditions will gradually erode across much of the West, with above-normal temperatures returning within a few days.  Outside the Great Lakes snow-belt areas, significant precipitation will be scarce, with 5-day rainfall topping an inch only in parts of southern Texas.  Weekend snow showers may affect a few areas, mainly from the northern Plains into parts of the mid-South and Midwest.
