Brownfield Ag Weather Today

With a ridge of high pressure in place across the West and the jet stream taking a deep plunge east of the Rockies, significant precipitation will be scarce during the next 5 days.  However, snow will continue in the Great Lakes region, due to lake-effect snow squalls and the mid-week passage of a fast-moving storm system.  Along that storm’s trailing cold front, mid- to late-week rainfall could reach 1 to 2 inches from the western Gulf Coast region to the Mississippi Delta.  Aside from late-week precipitation in the Pacific Northwest, the remainder of the country will stay dry, with chilly weather in the central and eastern U.S. contrasting with mild conditions in the West.
