Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A low-pressure system currently centered north of Lake Superior will race eastward, reaching northern New England on Thursday.  Light snow associated with the system will affect parts of the Midwest and Northeast, with snow squalls lingering in the storm’s wake downwind of the Great Lakes.  Along the storm’s trailing cold front, rain in the western Gulf Coast region should total 1 to 2 inches over the next couple of days.  Rain from a subsequent storm system will affect the same general area, starting during the weekend.  Consequently, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches from eastern Texas to the Mississippi Delta.  Mostly dry weather will cover the remainder of the country, aside from a return to unsettled weather during the weekend across the Northwest.  Elsewhere, the cold weather that has been affecting much of the central and eastern U.S. will ease by the end of the week.
