Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A moisture-laden storm system developing over the eastern U.S. will lead to heavy rain, expected to total 1 to 3 inches or more by late Wednesday along and east of a line from southeastern Louisiana to Lake Ontario, excluding Florida’s peninsula.  Flash flooding may occur in a few areas, including the central Gulf Coast region.  As colder air is drawn into the system, mid-week precipitation may change to snow before ending from the central Appalachians into the Northeast.  In the storm’s wake, snow squalls will return to areas downwind of the Great Lakes.  A late-week Midwestern and Eastern cold spell will be short-lived, as warmer weather will develop in advance of a series of Pacific storm systems arriving along the West Coast.  The lead Western system, expected to arrive on Thursday, will race eastward, resulting in some late-week Midwestern rain and snow.
