Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A winter storm currently traversing the Southeast and lower Midwest will reach the middle Atlantic Coast early Saturday.  In the storm’s wake, cold air will remain entrenched across most of the central and eastern U.S., although key winter agricultural regions in peninsular Florida and Deep South Texas should escape sub-freezing temperatures.  Farther north, a disturbance will deliver snow across the northern U.S., starting today in higher elevations of the Northwest and reaching the upper Great Lakes region by Sunday.  Frigid air trailing the Northern disturbance will result in widespread sub 0°F readings early next week in the north-central U.S.  Meanwhile in the West, periods of gusty winds may linger across southern California into next week, occasionally hampering wildfire containment efforts.  All areas of the West will remain dry during the next 5 days, aside from Northwestern rain and snow showers today into Saturday.
