Brownfield Ag Weather Today
A complex and potentially dangerous storm system will unfold today into Thursday from the northern Plains into portions of the Midwest and Northeast. Damaging accretions of freezing rain may occur in the central Appalachians, while many other areas will receive variable amounts of wintry precipitation, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Merely rain will fall across the southern tier of the precipitation shield, including the Tennessee Valley. A second storm system will closely follow the first, with additional precipitation expected in the Midwest and Northeast during the weekend. Five-day precipitation totals could reach 1 to 3 inches in the central Appalachians and environs. Meanwhile, mostly dry weather will return across the West during the weekend, although the Sierra Nevada could still receive an additional 2 to 4 inches of precipitation. In contrast, dry weather will prevail during the next 5 days across Florida and from the Desert Southwest to the central and southern Plains.
