Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A storm system currently traversing the Intermountain West will intensify across the central Plains later Tuesday and Tuesday night.  Subsequently, the storm will turn northeastward, crossing the Great Lakes region by Wednesday night.  Blizzard conditions, due to wind-driven snow and falling temperatures, will occur Tuesday night and Wednesday from parts of northwestern and north-central Kansas into southern Minnesota.  A trailing cold front will become more active late Wednesday, with potentially severe thunderstorms developing in the Mississippi Valley and sweeping eastward.  The cold front should exit the Atlantic Coast late Thursday, although Northeastern rain and snow may linger through Friday.  Meanwhile, much of the south-central U.S. will continue to endure windy, dry weather, with periods of blowing dust and a consistently elevated threat of wildfires.  In the West, a series of disturbances will maintain cool, showery weather from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Rockies, while warm, dry weather will prevail from southern California to the southern Rockies.
