Brownfield Ag Weather Today

During the mid- to late-week period, a complex interaction between a disturbance near the Gulf Coast, a frontal boundary across the North, and a storm system arriving across the nation’s mid-section will generate widespread showery, breezy conditions.  Specific highlights may include 2 to 6 inches of rain in the western Gulf Coast region; scattered thunderstorms, some of which may become severe, mainly from the western Gulf Coast States into the Midwest; and ongoing dryness across portions of the southern High Plains and southern Atlantic States.  Meanwhile, very warm weather currently building across the West will shift eastward, with late-week temperatures topping 80°F as far north as the middle Missouri Valley.  During the upcoming weekend, parts of Texas will experience temperatures above 90°F.  Elsewhere, mostly dry weather in the Southwest during the next 5 days will contrast with widespread, mid- to late-week precipitation from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Rockies.
