Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A sprawling storm system currently affecting areas from the central Rockies into the Southeast will drift eastward, with rain-related impacts persisting into next week across the eastern U.S.  On top of what has already fallen, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches or more from southern Louisiana to the southern Atlantic Coast, excluding southern Florida.  The northern extent of heavy rain should lie across northern sections of Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.  Many other areas of the U.S. will experience several days of warm, dry weather, favoring fieldwork and crop development.  In fact, warmth from the Pacific Coast to the northern Plains could push briefly push temperatures to near 100°F as far north as California’s San Joaquin Valley and above 90°F on the northern Plains.
