Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A low-pressure system currently traversing the north-central U.S. will drift east-southeastward, reaching the middle Atlantic Coast around mid-week.  Chilly weather in the storm’s wake could result in another round of frost this week in parts of the north-central U.S., extending into Thursday morning.  Meanwhile, severe thunderstorms will remain a threat along the storm’s trailing cold front, particularly later today from the southeastern Plains into the mid-South and middle Mississippi Valley.  Additional rainfall associated with the storm system should total 1 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts, from the northern and eastern Plains into the Midwest, mid-South, and mid-Atlantic.  In contrast,  only spotty showers will occur across the Deep South, aside from some mid-week rain in southern Texas, while completely dry weather will cover much of the nation’s southwestern quadrant, from California to western Texas.
