Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Lingering Northeastern precipitation will gradually subside during the weekend.  Meanwhile, very active weather will prevail through the Memorial Day weekend across the Plains and South, as disturbances slide southeastward along a nearly stationary frontal boundary separating cool and warm air.  Five-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches or more from the east-central and southeastern Plains into the Mississippi Delta, the Tennessee Valley, and the southern Appalachians.  A portion of the rain will come in the form of thunderstorms, some of which will feature flash flooding, high winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.  Farther north, however, cool, dry air will settle across the upper Mississippi Valley and environs, with weekend frost expected in the upper Great Lakes region.  Elsewhere, mostly dry weather will accompany a Western warming trend.
